Dear Pastor, Church, and praying friends:
Trips to Romania and Croatia
A lot has happened since we wrote last! In December, we were able to take a trip to visit our Australian missionary friends in Moldova Nouă, Romania, just on the other side of the Danube River about 2.5 hours from us. They graciously allowed me to preach to their folks. It was a big blessing to see 6 saved during the evening service after I preached and 4 of those are Serbians! Apparently many villages on the Romanian side of the river are either made up of Serbs or speak Serbian as well as Romanian. We are really excited since these are the first Serbians that we have personally seen saved! Please click here for more.
We just returned yesterday from a trip to visit missionary friends in Croatia. It was very encouraging seeing that former Yugoslavs can get saved and can become part of independent, fundamental Baptist churches in Europe! The fellowship with the missionaries was refreshing as well as seeing the work God is doing there. Their work in Bible translation, hymns and etc. may end up being a great help to us here since Croatian is so close to Serbian.
Our first Christmas and New Year’s in Serbia were great! There was no real snow though from then up until recently. We were just blanketed with over 1.5 foot of snow and it has been very, very cold lately! South Serbia was hit badly and many Serbs are trapped in their homes in many villages; some areas received a meter or more of snow, especially in neighboring Bosnia and Croatia.
I was able to witness to my cousin’s son, Pedja, who was visiting here for the holidays and lives in Germany. I have been praying for him a long time and was hoping for the best but unfortunately he did not get saved yet. Please pray for his salvation.
A special announcement and prayer request: we are expecting another baby! We were surprised but grateful the Lord has entrusted us with another child. We are not sure yet what gender but the baby is due in August. Rachel and the new baby are doing fine but please pray for the rest of the pregnancy to go well (and certainly the delivery!).
Please Pray For:
- Salvation of my mom (Vera)
- Serbians to be saved
- Salvation of Pedja & Serb family
- Health of the new baby
- Learn language & culture
- More laborers in Serbia
