Dear Pastor, Church, and praying friends:
Special Music Service
The second week of April we were privileged to have Pastor Doug & Jennifer Cassel and their daughter Jessica with us from one of our supporting churches, Bethel Baptist Church of Linton, IN. It was such a delight to have them and we really enjoyed their visit and their fellowship. Since we do not have anyone coming yet mid-week I took them to visit in Timisoara, Romania and be at Bro. Tim Tyler’s church and their Bible college to be a blessing to them.
Sunday the 13th we had them for special services and we tried to use it as an evangelistic opportunity, putting out fliers and inviting folks for it. They are a very musically gifted family and it was a blessing to have them sing and play good godly music that Serbs had never heard before. We ended up with a lot less than we were shooting for but a total of 19, including us and the Cassels (our most to date!). About four were my relatives again with us and the rest were some of our friends, including our translator and family. They all seemed to really enjoy the music and we praise the Lord we got to see the Gospel seed planted once again from Bro. Cassel’s preaching. Please pray the Lord would continue to work on their hearts.
Serbia and the Balkans was hit by a massive rain storm the second week of May as a cyclone settled over the region and dumped in a period of 3 days about 3 months worth of precipitation. It was more rain than they had ever had since they started keeping records on weather 120 years ago. A lot of Serbia, Bosnia and some of Croatia was then hit with more flooding than they had ever seen to the point where 150,000 have been evacuated and up to now about 50 fatalities. The flooding covered an area larger than the state of New Jersey. There have been 1000’s of landslides as well, as a result of the rain. We were not affected but some of my family down south near Bosnia live in a town and a village that was affected; we praise the Lord that they were unharmed. Please pray that God can use this tragedy to reach people’s hearts with the Gospel and pray for those that have been devastated by this flood.
We thank the Lord for your faithful prayers and support for us here in Serbia. Please pray the Lord would allow us to minister to folks somehow affected by this tragedy and would give us prospects to follow up on that God may bring some eternal blessings out of all this.
Your servants to Serbia,
Danny, Rachel, Katelyn, Brianna & Rebekah Foss
